Letter from CRCBR Leadership

Updated 4/8/2020

The CRCBR leadership is closely monitoring the rapidly developing COVID-19 outbreak. The health and well-being of our members is our top priority, and we are taking the threat of this virus seriously. CRCBR has decided the responsible course is to adopt social distancing protocol for CRCBR activities through mid-April. We are doing this to protect you, your aging parents, your children and your colleagues. Generally, this will mean creating distant learning opportunities, cancelling or rescheduling programs and encouraging small groups to meet virtually. In doing so, we hope to preserve delivery of CRCBR membership value and convene as much as possible through a switch to safer methods. The specific steps we are taking:

Events and Committee Meetings

The following events are postponed and we are working to schedule new dates. If you are registered, you will be transferred.

  • CE Day (April 8)
  • Spring Golf Tournament (April 20)

All committee and leadership meetings through the middle of April will be held via conference call or video conferencing. Planning for future CRCBR events and activities is still underway.

Important: Even if you are granted a CE extension, you must still renew your North Carolina license during the license renewal period (May 15-June 30, 2020).

UPDATE 3/20/2020:

On Wednesday, the North Carolina Real Estate Commission passed an emergency rule package in response to the current COVID-19 situation. These rules primarily address education requirements for licensees due to the guidance offered by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) regarding prohibitions on mass gatherings and social distancing. UPDATE 3/14/2020:

Late Friday, the North Carolina Real Estate Commission issued a recommendation for all CE providers to immediately suspend all in-person instruction through April 30, 2020. "The Commission will discuss the impact of the virus on its programs and services at its Wednesday, March 18 meeting, including possible emergency rulemaking to facilitate synchronous learning or other delivery methods for the remainder of the 2019-2020 license period and extensions of time for completion of mandatory education if necessary." Click Here for the full release. Once we have more guidance from the NC REC, those that have registered for CRCBR CE classes can be transferred to a new class of your choice or refunded upon request. More details will be posted when available.

Our online learning opportunities are still available.

What We Are Doing to Manage Through This

We are paying close attention to the advancement of COVID-19. CRCBR is dedicated to maintaining a healthy work environment for our CRCBR staff. We provide hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes for use on phones, desks, doorknobs, computer keyboards and in our meeting rooms. We are encouraging our staff to work remotely if they are feeling ill. If you have questions, please reach out via email ([email protected]) or phone (704-377-8982). We are regularly checking all messages to respond to our members inquiries.
